We’re Getting Married! Where do I begin?

Congratulations! You’re engaged! What an exciting time for you-one full of joy and exhilaration. As you begin the process of planning your wedding, it may be you have no idea where to start. Here are some tips to help you along the way.

First, decide the level of formality for your wedding. This will set the stage for all of your decisions including choice of venue, your dress, and flowers. We have a brief video regarding the level of formality which will give you all the details.

Next, create a system to keep track of your ideas, budget, and schedule. An easy way to do this is to get a 3-ring binder and use tab dividers labeled with the various areas.  Make a dream section to put pictures in, a note section to write down things you think of or see, and an area for spreadsheets to keep track of the nitty gritty details like where you are spending your money and when you need to contact your vendors for a final tally.

Attend bridal events. The Pink Bride Bridal Show is in many cities. It is a great show which we are a part of in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. There are other bridal shows throughout the community. Check your local papers and community bulletin boards. Come to Bride’s Night Out/Groom’s Night Out at the Historic Southern Railway Station on March 10 from 6:30-9:00 pm. Hairstylists, make-up artists, and other vendors will be there to help brides decide on their wedding day look. Grooms will have their own activities including help with honeymoon planning and their wedding day look. Wedding Planning 101+  is designed especially for brides and grooms who desire to plan most or all of their own wedding. Email us and we’ll send you information on our next seminar.

Keep fun in your relationship! The pressures of wedding planning can become overwhelming quickly. Take time for you as a couple to remember why you are getting married. Endeavor to not talk about anything wedding related during these times. Need a fun date? Join us for a Sweetheart Banquet at the Knoxville, Marriott on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2016.
