Honeymoon Styles

Honeymoons come in all shapes and sizes.

A week at the beach, 5 days sightseeing, 3 days in the mountains hiking and exploring. Island hopping, shows, casino time, golf, lounging on the white sands, getting a massage.

Ultimately, you should plan a honeymoon that suits the two of you and provides you with a good start in your marriage.

Whether you have a month or a few days, taking time for a honeymoon allows you to unwind following your wedding and spend time as a couple. You learn new things about one another and set up patterns of relating as a married couple, both to each other and as a team to other people. It’s worth planning intentionally so you can fully enjoy your time together.

If you’re still searching for the right fit, here are several styles of honeymoons:

1. The All Inclusive Honeymoon.

Your meals, accommodations, tips, fees, amenities and most activities are all included. Therefore, when you arrive you can, “Leave your wallet at home,” enjoying your time without worrying about additional expenses. Furthermore, these honeymoons are packed with value and you may be surprised how reasonable the price is. Since you receive unlimited food, drinks, and amenities, along with most onsite excursions and activities, the cost often turns out to be equal to or less in price than other choices. Plus, you get excellent quality of service in beautiful locations so you truly can enjoy your time together.

As members of the ABC, we are travel agents with Sandals, Beaches, and the Grand Pineapple. We can help you find an all-inclusive vacation that suits what’s most important to you – whether that’s adventure activities, cuisine, water sports, golfing, or private beaches. 2. Resorts.

Resorts usually include apartment style accommodations with bed, bath, living room, and kitchen. The actual cost of your room may be less than an all-inclusive package. They are a great option for those who want to cook their own romantic dinners, hire a private chef to prepare their meals, or sample the fare at local restaurants. In addition, they usually have several onsite amenities such as pools, hot tubs, in room jacuzzis, fitness rooms, and miniature golf. Furthermore, if you do want to take in a show or attraction, many resorts offer complimentary or reduced price tickets to area attractions. You may find more options for resorts that are not all-inclusive than resorts that are all-inclusive depending on where you want to honeymoon.

3. Hotel rooms and Bed and Breakfast Inns.

Hotel rooms and Bed and Breakfast Inns vary widely as to price, amenities, and quality. If you want to stay in a place with historic charm, this may be the best way to go. While you may or may not pay less for your actual room, all other expenses are added on. However, you can usually enjoy an included breakfast buffet. You’ll want to have a budget in place for eating out and activities or attractions.

4. Destination honeymoons/weddingmoons.

You may want to go to a special location for your once-in-a-lifetime trip. Destination weddings combined with a honeymoon can be very affordable! Destination choices can be all-inclusive or you can create a custom itinerary with special tours and programs. Other options may be resorts with full kitchens or hotel rooms. In addition, you may desire to go prior to your wedding with your families for a memorable vacation. This slows the pace and may allow for a more relaxed wedding day.

The average cost of a wedding is over $33,000* with venue, caterer, flowers, favors, and more. If you are are drawn to smaller, intimate weddings, a destination wedding may be an excellent option for an unforgettable experience with your bridal party and friends. You can even host your wedding in one location and honeymoon in another. In addition, if you choose an all-inclusive option like Sandals, you could honeymoon hop over several resorts and islands.
